After 20 years as a therapist I have been reflecting on the amazing people I have been privileged to work with. Some have had mountains of hurt and sadness to deal with. Others less so. Yet all of them have been an inspiration to me, in their own way. This may come as a surprise to them but it's true. Their courage, strength and determination is a credit to them all.
This poem was written by someone I encountered during that time. I hope it resonates with you.
"The Little Wren"
You stood on the wall
Not afraid
You stood up so tall
Even though you were so small.
You looked up at me
And the beauty I did see
You did not fly into the tree
But you stayed with me.
You gave me a sense of peace
And it felt as if my troubles had ceased
I actually felt good
And I knew you were sent from above.
I will never forget you my dear friend
For the love you did send
For my inner peace
And for helping my troubles cease.
